The 1979 Ford F-150 is the truck that defined the modern American pickup era — the third generation of the F-Series that won Ford the best-selling vehicle title it has never relinquished. In Brown, it's the F-150 in one of its most quintessentially 1970s colour choices: earthy, honest, and completely of its era. Motormax's 1/24 diecast replica captures every detail of this American icon, from the distinctive square front end to the chrome step bumper.

The Story Behind the Model

The 1979 Ford F-150 was part of the third-generation F-Series — the trucks that ran from 1973 to 1979 and established Ford's dominance in the pickup truck market. The square-body styling was modern and purposeful for its era, the range of engine options was extensive, and the F-150 nameplate — introduced in 1975 as a lighter alternative to the heavier F-100 — became the foundation of Ford's truck empire. In brown, it's the period-correct choice for any classic truck collection.
